If hunger is constantly fighting you, weight loss can feel exhausting.
That is one reason I use the patented Sadkhin Therapy® method in my practice: to help quiet excessive hunger so clients can focus on the habits that actually create lasting change.
At Natural Weight Loss Florida, acupressure is not the entire program. It is one tool within a broader approach that includes whole-food nutrition, intermittent fasting, personalized coaching and sustainable habit change.
And the idea of using ear stimulation to support appetite and weight management is not simply anecdotal. Auricular acupressure and related forms of ear stimulation have been studied in randomized trials and systematic reviews.
What Is Acupressure for Weight Loss?
Acupressure is based on stimulating specific points on the body without the use of needles.
For weight management, one area researchers have paid particular attention to is the ear. This is known as auricular acupressure or auricular stimulation.
Researchers have explored whether stimulating points around the ear may affect appetite, hunger signals, satiety and weight-related measurements.
This general concept is also part of the Sadkhin approach.
Sadkhin Therapy® is a proprietary hunger-control method that uses small stainless-steel spheres placed behind the ears to stimulate specific points known as Sadkhin Points®. According to Sadkhin Therapy, the system uses 16 biologically active points as part of its approach to hunger regulation.
The method is protected under U.S. Patent US9931272B2, titled Method for reducing a person’s weight through hunger control.
What Does the Research Say About Acupressure and Weight Loss?
The broader field of auricular stimulation has been studied for years, and the findings are encouraging.
Several systematic reviews and meta-analyses have looked at auricular acupressure and related forms of ear stimulation in people who were overweight or obese. Across these studies, researchers have found improvements in measures including:
- body weight
- BMI
- waist circumference
- body-fat measurements
- insulin
- insulin resistance
- leptin
One 2019 meta-analysis focused specifically on auricular acupressure and found improvements in weight, BMI, waist circumference and body-fat measurements. More recently, a 2024 systematic review examined 15 randomized controlled trials involving 1,333 participants and again found significant improvements in several weight- and metabolic-related outcomes.
Taken together, the research suggests that stimulating specific points around the ear may be a useful tool for supporting weight management, particularly when it is combined with nutrition and lifestyle changes.
That is exactly how I use it in my practice.
I do not rely on acupressure alone. I use it to help make hunger more manageable so clients can more consistently follow through on the habits that create lasting results.
How Does the Sadkhin Method Fit Into This?
Sadkhin Therapy® takes the concept of acupressure and applies it through a proprietary system designed specifically around hunger control.
According to Sadkhin Therapy, the method was developed by Dr. Gregory Sadkhin and uses 16 specific biologically active points located around the ear. Sadkhin Spheres™ are placed behind the ears to stimulate those points and are intended to help regulate hunger and cravings.
The Sadkhin program has been used since 1989 and combines its hunger-control method with a structured eating plan and behavior change.
That combination matters.
Because in my practice, I do not look at acupressure as something that does all the work for you.
I see it as something that can make the work easier.
Why Hunger Control Can Change the Entire Weight-Loss Experience
Think about grocery shopping when you are starving.
Everything suddenly looks appealing.
The bread aisle feels more dangerous.
The snacks start talking to you.
And whatever you planned for dinner suddenly seems far less exciting than something quick and easy.
Now picture walking into that same grocery store when you feel calm and satisfied.
Same store.
Same food.
Different decision-making.
That is why hunger control matters so much.
When clients feel less consumed by hunger, they often find it easier to focus on the behaviors that actually create progress.
Those can include:
- eating whole, real foods
- increasing protein
- reducing mindless snacking
- practicing intermittent fasting
- identifying physical hunger versus emotional cravings
- improving portion awareness
- drinking more water
- planning meals ahead
- getting enough sleep
- moving more consistently
That is where sustainable weight loss is built.
Weight Loss Is Not Just About Willpower
One of the biggest misconceptions I see is that people believe they would lose weight if they were simply more disciplined.
I do not agree.
Most people I work with already know what they “should” be doing.
They know vegetables are better than chips.
They know late-night grazing is not helping.
They know they probably need more protein, more sleep and more movement.
Knowledge usually is not the problem.
The problem is trying to make good decisions while battling hunger, stress, exhaustion, habits and years of dieting all at the same time.
That is why I believe weight loss is a skill, not a test of willpower.
And when hunger becomes more manageable, those skills become much easier to practice.
Is Acupressure a Magic Weight-Loss Solution?
No.
And it does not need to be.
The purpose of acupressure in my program is not to replace healthy eating, movement, sleep or behavior change.
It is to support them.
I use the Sadkhin Therapy® method alongside:
Whole-food nutrition
Intermittent fasting
Personalized coaching
Habit change
Accountability
Sleep support
Movement
Meal planning
Stress management
That is what makes the approach different.
Instead of asking you to white-knuckle your way through another restrictive diet, we work on reducing hunger while building the habits you will still have long after the program ends.
What About Acupressure vs. Weight-Loss Medication?
They are very different approaches.
GLP-1 medications work pharmacologically and can be effective for some people when prescribed and monitored by a medical professional.
Acupressure does not work in the same way and should not be viewed as a direct substitute for medication.
But not everyone wants medication.
Some people are looking for a more natural, non-invasive way to support hunger control while changing the way they eat and live.
That is where an approach like Sadkhin Therapy may be appealing.
I also work with clients who are currently using GLP-1 medications because hunger reduction alone does not teach you how to maintain your results.
Eventually, you still need to know how to navigate restaurants, vacations, stressful weeks, holidays, social events, late nights and busy schedules.
Those habits matter whether you are using medication, acupressure or neither.
Why the Research Matters
I think it is important to understand the difference between a trendy claim and an approach that has scientific interest behind it.
Auricular stimulation has been studied in randomized controlled trials and systematic reviews, and researchers have found measurable changes in several weight-related outcomes.
That does not mean every person will experience the exact same result.
But it does mean the concept of using ear stimulation as part of weight management has enough scientific support to warrant serious consideration.
And for me, the most important question is not:
“Will this one thing make me lose weight?”
The better question is:
“Can this help make healthy behavior easier for me to sustain?”
That is where I believe the real value lies.
Who May Be a Good Fit for This Approach?
This type of program may appeal to someone who:
- feels hungry all the time
- struggles with cravings
- is tired of restrictive dieting
- does not want to obsessively count calories
- wants a drug-free approach
- wants personalized accountability
- has lost weight before but regained it
- feels that midlife weight loss is harder than it used to be
- wants help building habits that actually last
Many of my clients come to me saying some version of:
“I know what to do. I just can’t seem to do it consistently anymore.”
That is exactly where we start.
The Bottom Line
Acupressure for weight loss is not simply a wellness trend.
Auricular stimulation has been studied in randomized clinical trials and systematic reviews, and research has shown measurable effects on body weight, BMI, waist circumference and other weight-related markers.
Sadkhin Therapy® builds on that concept through a patented hunger-control method that uses 16 specific points around the ear and small stainless-steel spheres designed to stimulate those points.
In my practice, that is only the beginning.
I combine hunger control with real food, intermittent fasting, personalized coaching and habit change because my goal is not simply to help you lose weight.
I want you to learn how to keep it off.
I want food to take up less space in your head.
I want you to trust yourself around food again.
And I want healthy choices to feel less like a daily battle.
Because sustainable weight loss should not require you to spend the rest of your life fighting your body.
If this sounds like the kind of approach you have been looking for, let’s talk.
