Last week, I shared a video about setting a timer to carve out 5 minutes of joy each day—and wow, did it resonate with you all! So, I’m taking it a step further. This week, we’re diving into discovering what truly fuels you. And no, I’m not talking about food! I mean that pure, electrifying joy that charges your soul and brightens every single day. Let’s find what lights you up from the inside out!

Lately, I’ve been hearing from so many of you—especially my incredible midlife women—that stress is running rampant. And while a busy schedule can feel like a never-ending marathon, it’s crucial to pause and refuel with the moments that bring you true happiness.

Imagine this: even just five minutes of genuine laughter (when was the last time you laughed so hard you peed a little?), an afternoon of indulging in your favorite hobby, or a weekend escape that recharges your soul. These moments aren’t just little escapes—they’re the high-octane fuel for your mind, heart, and spirit. When you invest in what makes you feel alive, you’re not just surviving; you’re thriving!

So I broke it out into two categories:

5-Minute Joy Boosts

Gratitude Sprint: Jot down three little things that made you smile today. It’s a quick win that kick-starts your happy vibes!
Dance Break: Crank up your favorite tune and bust out a mini dance routine—no judgment, just pure fun. My fave to do this to is Rapper’s Delight!
Quick Sketch: Grab a pen and doodle something silly or beautiful. You don’t need to be Picasso—just let your creativity flow. My sister has been drawing the same flower since we were kids.
Mindful Pause: Take five deep, slow breaths while picturing your happiest place. A mini mental vacation is all you need!
Silly Selfie: Snap a goofy selfie and send it to a friend. Instant mood boost guaranteed! My daughter totally mocks my selfies but I think it’s fun!
Post-It Positivity: Write a short, uplifting note on a sticky note and place it somewhere you’ll see later—your future self will thank you.
Afternoon Joy Journeys

Picnic in the Park: Pack your favorite snack, grab a cozy blanket, and head to a local park for a dose of fresh air and good vibes. Beach works too!
Creative Workshop: Sign up for a fun DIY or art class—get a little messy and create something uniquely you. I did a really cool jewelry making class for 4 weeks and it was very zen plus I had great gifts to give out by the end of it.
Urban Exploration: Take an afternoon stroll through a new neighborhood or hit up a local art gallery to spark inspiration.
Nature Walk: Visit a botanical garden or scenic trail, letting the beauty of nature recharge your spirit.
Café Crawl: Embark on a mini adventure by visiting a few quirky cafés. Sip your favorite latte, people-watch, and soak in the ambiance. Also works with wine!
Home Spa Retreat: Dedicate an afternoon to self-pampering with a homemade spa session—think bubble bath, soothing music, and a little extra “me time.”

Each of these ideas is designed to be your little escape from the daily grind—whether it’s a quick boost or an extended adventure. Find what fuels your joy and make it a non-negotiable part of your day. Your happiness is worth it!
