The Number on the Scale isn't Everything

You workout, you watch what you eat (mostly) and yet the number on the scale isn't moving. Frustrated? Angry? Giving up? I hope not.

Even if the scale is not showing the magic number you were hoping for, the magic inside you is still happening when you are making healthy choices and creating fantastic habits that will stick with you for LIFE. These habits will compound and absolutely make a difference even if the scale isn't reflecting it.

Have you tried on that outfit you were hoping to wear but last time was a bit too snug? How is your energy these days? How about your sleep? Are you sleeping more soundly? I bet your mood has even been impacted.

Choosing a healthy lifestyle isn't always about that "magic number". It impacts your entire well-being. I am not going to lie. I definitely have had clients that plateaued and were extremely frustrated. It's not easy to push our bodies to where they don't always want to go. That being said, weight loss isn't the end-all be-all with creating a lifestyle that makes you feel great.

Making good choices for your body that include a healthy diet and exercise is so much more impactful than you think. Pay attention to your

  • energy
  • sleep patterns
  • how your clothes fit
  • your mood
  • improvements in your skin
  • sex drive

Since you have already improved your diet and increased your exercise, you've already improved your health. If you're overweight or obese, even modest weight loss improves chronic health conditions.

Whatever happens next for you, stay strong, don't go back to your old eating and exercise habits. You don't want to regain the weight you've lost. Celebrate your success and continue your efforts to maintain your weight loss. Look for your "magic number" in other ways and I promise you your body will thank you!
