What goals have you set for yourself for 2021? Do they involve your health?
Perhaps:
Give up soft drinks or energy drinks
Eat more veggies
Consume less sugar
Reach a healthy weight
Sleep more
Start a fitness routine
What actions have you taken thus far to reach those goals? Just a reminder, we are more than one month into the new year already. I find that starting small, with perhaps a tiny attainable goal is the way to go. It will eventually become a habit that can last a lifetime.
Choose something to accomplish every day and let's build from there.
Perhaps:
Today reach for a glass of water (or seltzer if you need bubbly) and eliminate one or two of those soft drinks that you would normally consume. Each day build on that until your body craves water and has no desire for unhealthy beverages. It will happen.
Tomorrow perhaps you can forgo the after dinner snack and sip a cup of tea while you are watching Netflix. Green tea in particular can even improve brain function!
The next day perhaps add to your workout routine (assuming you have one). I make sure to squeeze in at least 1-3 minutes on my abs each day followed by a one minute plank. We are talking about less than 5 minutes here and it could be the start of a new healthy habit that you can definitely build on.
Once you get a taste of success you will absolutely want to continue and keep building!
Be PROUD of every single step you take towards your goal (no matter how incremental it may seem). The first step is always the hardest to take, but it will get so much easier with each tiny step. To build momentum, try making your first tiny step easy to commit to. Celebrate that victory and keep going!
